MXPlank Documentary on Nuclear Physics Recent, sophisticated software processing of the NICMOS data removes most of the scattered starlight to reveal three planets orbiting HR 8799 This Hubble Space Telescope view shows one of the most dynamic and intricately detailed star-forming regions in space, located 210,000 light-years away in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) Hubble's view of the Carina Nebula shows star birth in a new level of detail. The fantasy-like landscape of the nebula is sculpted by the action of outflowing winds and scorching ultraviolet radiation from the monster stars that inhabit this inferno. This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image shows a globular cluster known as NGC 104 - or, more commonly, 47 Tucanae, since it is part of the constellation of Tucana (The Toucan) in the southern sky. In this new Hubble image, the strikingly luminous star AG Carinae — otherwise known as HD 94910 — takes centre stage A small young stellar object (YSO) known as SSTC2D J033038.2+303212. Located in the constellation of Perseus, this star is in the early stages of its life and is still forming into a fully grown star.
