This is an artist's impression of the Jupiter-size extrasolar planet, HD 189733b, being eclipsed by its parent star. Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope have measured carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in the planet's atmosphere.
To celebrate its 28th anniversary in space the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope took this amazing and colourful image of the Lagoon Nebula.
This image displays how the seven planets orbiting TRAPPIST-1 might appear - including the possible presence of water oceans - alongside some images of the rocky planets in our Solar System
This is an artist's concept of HD 189733b and its parent star
A wide field image of the sky around the galaxy I Zwicky 18 taken on the ground by the Digitized Sky Survey 2. The field of view is approximately 2.7 x 2
An artist's impression of the extrasolar planet HD 189733b seen here with its parent star looming behind. The planet is slightly larger than our own Solar System's Jupiter. Its atmosphere is a scorching eight hundred degrees Celsius
