Featured above is a photo composite of part of a lightning display that was observed southwest of Orlando, Florida earlier this summer. this storm was watched to form as a rather innocuous spot on the weather radar and absolutely explode just after sunset into a huge thunderstorm complex. Though the Florida Peninsula is known to be among the most active locations in the world for lightning, this was easily the best fireworks show that has been seen yet this year.
