The photo above shows powerful lightning bolts pummeling the city of Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia. It was taken on December 11, 2015, during a severe thunderstorm - small hail (pea size) as well as vivid lightning was reported. Queensland and New South Wales had to endure several impressive storms at the end of 2015. Fortunately, there was very little damage from this storm though the visual impact was quite dramatic.
